Brand New HD Nodular iron Main Harmonic Balancer for all 6.5's 94 and newer, all vehicles.

If you have a rattle in the front of your engine, it may be the Harmonic Balancer. Inspect and if loose or showing signs of separating, replace it immediately. Harmonic balancers fail over time and will cause a crankshaft to break. If you have ever heard of a crank breaking on a 6.5, it can always be traced back to a bad balancer, not a bad crank.

The main harmonic balancer sits on the crankshaft behind the secondary balancer which contains the serpentine drive pulley. That secondary balancer is usually the source of failure, but inspect this main balancer and replace if showing signs of wear or separating. Much cheaper then a new crankshaft!

Engines require a harmonic balancer to absorb the harmonic vibration created by the reciprocating motion of the pistons and rods and rotation of the crankshaft. It is located on the front end of the crankshaft and the secondary balancer with drive pulley attaches to it. If defective, the crank vibration will fail the crankshaft causing catastrophic failure of your engine. The outer secondary balancer fails from age and wear as well.
