I have a '94 GMC with 240,652 miles on it and with the recent changes I have made with your products, the change is amazing. With the intake and exhaust modifications I have gained both hp and economy. I recently had pump issues and the heat sync was a no...

Brand new ECONOMY SERIES FSD Heat-Sync IITM (less PMD and resistor) for all GM 6.5 Turbo Diesels with electronic fuel injection in C/K pick-ups and Suburbans, 1994-2000. Manufactured in USA by SSDiesel SupplyTM, GM 6.5 TD specialists. Solves the problem of frequent PMD failure with your GM Diesel.

The PMD (pump mounted driver) or FSD (fuel solenoid driver) is that small black box mounted on the side of your injection pump. It is a signal amplifier that powers the fuel solenoid. It contains 2-500 watt transistors which create a lot of heat. The factory mistakenly mounted this PMD module on the side of an already hot injection pump and in the engine valley below the intake manifold where temperatures skyrocket. As everyone knows, electronics do not like heat and they will fail prematurely. Symptoms of failure are stalling, hard starting, surging, poor fuel mileage, erratic idle and finally no-start. When they go it usually will not give any codes with the SES (Service Engine Soon) light. This American Made Cooler, relocates the PMD to a cooler area of the engine compartment, above the intake, on a massive heat sink. A proven design. Our design solves the flaws in all other cooler designs, including the one without fins. Please check out our "FSD advantages" page on the toolbar of our home page, also the FAQ section.

Includes everything EXCEPT a new PMD and resistor to complete the installation. (shown for reference in photo only) We can supply a new Stanadyne PMD and resistor if needed, please see other versions on the products page which include the PMD. Included is 1) cooler as pictured, grade 8 mounting hardware (required to obtain proper torque for heat transfer), and our SILICONE Heat transfer pad, proven far superior then any other made. The original harness will plug right into the module with no modification or strain on wires. Detailed step-by-step installation instructions included. Removal of the top shroud required. Only basic hand tools required. No drilling or cable splicing. Professionally engineered and manufactured in USA by SSDiesel SupplyTM. Properly sized for the heat load!

***WORD OF CAUTION*** Heat Transfer technology is a science. The sizing of a heat sink requires calculations for the heat load of 2-500 watt transistors in an underhood environment exceeding 150 DF. The mass of the heat sink, cooling fin design and cooling fin surface area is CRITICAL to PMD life. Although our "Heat-Sync" runs significantly cooler then most of the competitors, most others will still somewhat do the job. However, I see one out there with little to no "home-made fins" that couldn't possibly dissipate the heat of 2-500 watt transistors. Temperature will fry a PMD. Look to buy the best fuctioning one, not the prettiest one. Extensive reasearch and engineering have gone into my design. No guesswork involved.

If relocating your existing PMD make sure first it is worthy to do so. If it has over 30K miles on it or has ever shown signs of failure, leave it be and install a new PMD on the FSD Heat Sync II. We sell them complete with PMD and resistor as p/n ssd-077. A FSD Heat Sync II will not fix an already bad PMD, just prevent future damage. Please contact tech support for information if planning to re-use your old PMD.

Included in the box: 1) ECONOMY SERIES FSD Heat Sync II, 4) PMD grade 8 mounting screws, 1) silicone heat transfer pad and detailed instructions.

NOTE: This is a lighter duty version of our patented ssd-005 FSD Heat Sync

PMD NOT included, shown for reference only.
