I own 1995 GMC 6.5 with "Service Engine Soon Light ON". Dealer told me Code 35, 36 error. Dealer quoted 2700 dollars plus. I emailed SSDIESEL and they e-mailed back same day that all I needed was a new PMD. I purchased the new PMD Kit and sure enough...

Supply/Lift Pump Pressure Gauge kit. This high quality  gauge splices in the fuel hose from the filter to the injection pump in minutes. Leave this gauge permanently in place so  you can check your pressure anytime to avoid problems.

For just a temporary check of fuel supply pressure, purchase our vacuum/pressure test kit ssd-242 in the "tools" category elsewhere on our website.

Includes a 1.5" Liquid Filled stainless case gauge and with brass internals.  Also includes a solid brass in-line fuel gauge tap to splice right in your fuel hose. Stainless clamps also included. Nothing else needed to install.

Although your 6.5 will run with low or no pressure, loss of supply pressure will produce a hesitation or "hiccup" on acceleration. Also hard starting and stalling. Without supply pressure, the injection pump is forced to "suck" fuel from the tank instead of being "fed" fuel by the supply pump, which puts undue stress on the injection pump by overheating and providing inadequate internal lubrication and will lead to pre-mature injection pump failures. Normal supply pump pressure is 3-5psi idle thru full rpm.

NOTE: This gauge will not work with any of our pillar pods for 2 reasons...

1) it will not fit, it is just 1.5" in diameter and the pods take 2-1/16" gauges

2) it is unsafe and illegal to mount a fuel pressure gauge inside the cab.
