EGR Valve w/gkt for all 6.5 "S" engines in all year C/K trucks.

The EGR valve is located on top of the intake manifold and has one vacuum hose connected to it. Its function is to recirculate a portion of the exhaust and re-burn it to control emissions. "F" engines don't have one as they are non-emissions engines.

It is illegal to disable your EGR valve, and will not pass state inspection.

Symptoms are rough idle, and a hesitation from a dead stop, accompanied by a puff of white smoke.

First verify your vacuum pump is working and providing 20+ inches of vacuum to the solenoids. Then verify the solenoids are working, or just replace them as they are very inxpensive (sold elsewhere on the website).

Changing this valve is about a 20 minute job. Its held in place by only 2 bolts.
