A complete redesign and product upgrade was needed for this critical component. This electronic device was originally  mounted on the side of the DS Fuel Injection pumps for the General Motors Diesel applications. Many features were improved upon from the original OE design. Components were changed to adhere to the harsher environments that caused the OE design to fail. Our SSD Advancaed Technology PMD is the best on the market or we wouldn't sell them!

The PMD is the small black box the size of a deck of playing cards on the side of your injection pump. It is a signal amplifier that powers the fuel solenoid on your injection pump. In stock location, it is prone to premature failure. I strongly suggest not re-installing it in the stock location. Mount to a remote cooler such as our FSD Heat-Sync^TM. If replacing the PMD, don't forget the resistor. PMD's do not come with one and one is required. If you omit the resistor, your PCM will default to a #1 resistor setting to keep you running. But, performance and mileage will suffer greatly. I suggest a #9 resistor in all applications. See the products page for more info.
