99.9% of the time the stock harness will reach perfectly with absolutely no stress or strain on the harness. It is the correct length to reach the new location. We have found some neophyte mechanics who may have last replaced your injection pump, may have inadvertently tangled the PMD harness around some injection tubes, making the harness a tight fit. The option has been to spend some time to untangle the previous blunder, or remove the intake manifold for better access. This 8" harness extension is for only when that happens. It is not needed in 99.9% of the time.
