This strainer/sock in your tank plugs with debris over time and will restrict fuel flow causing stalling, low fuel supply pressure, pump cavatation which will produce bubbles in the fuel resulting in hesitation and hard starting. Also ove time this sock can deteriorate and fall apart sucking trash into the supply pump. In fact trash in the supply pump is the #1 cause of pump failure. If your truck is over 10 years old, no doubt it needs replacement.NOTE: This sock looks a little different then the one currently in your truck.
