Brand new #9 Calibration resistor. Fits all GM 6.5 turbo diesels 1994-2004 with electronic fuel injection. Used in Chevy and GMC C/K pick-ups, G/P vans and cab/chassis (buses, etc) and H1 Hummers. (See note c below)
#1 thru #9 resistors adjust the fuel rate output your injection pump. The #9 is the largest value available. The OEM states a 6% increase in fuel delivery over a stock #5 at full throttle. (aftermarket scam #13 will trip an SES code) Unlike a gas engine, with diesel engines, the more fuel injected, the more hp produced. PROVEN effective by diesel enthusiasts everywhere. Changing the resistor is just like turning up the fuel on the older manual injection pump. You can actually retain your great mileage using this resistor if you drive normally. But, if you put your foot into it, you will see more power and reduced mileage. I personally run a #9 and average around 20 MPG with a K1500 p/u.
The calibration resistor location by design, straddles the PMD connector pins and is sandwiched in place between the harness and the PMD/FSD connector. (see 2nd photo for an installed view) Average value used stock is a #5, but diesel enthusiasts know that increasing to a #9 is a definate performance boost. Installation instructions included. PMD/FSD's and coolers are also available. Please see our other products.
Notes: a) PMD not included, shown in photo for installation reference only. b) Resistor color may vary. c) Will not fit the new Gray Stanadyne PMD as its made in Malaysia and the connectors are not correct. If desired it can be made to fit by filing the ears off the end of the resistor.
