Rating: 5 of 5 stars Well I replaced the rusted fuel sender and the fuel tank which was also rusted, the fuel lines I can see will be a future project. I put 168 miles on the truck without a miss, with the new injectors and no cat the thing flys from 60 mph up, mileage is about 16 mpg. I cannot express how much help you've been, I've gotten a crash course in 6.5s. This truck has been a major embarrassment to me, I've been an ASE master auto tech for more than 25yr, worked for a Chev dealer for 15yrs as a drive tech, and cadillac for 2, and I couldn't fix my own. They gave us very little training and there is no substitute for experience. As a further complement to you the GM tech center was of little help. Thanks again!!!! |

Rating: 5 of 5 stars i wanted to put this on my '97 2 dr yukon. 1st exhaust shop said it couldn't be done, ...took it to another guy who left out the middle pipe, had to tweak the down pipe a little, and cut the end piece in to 3 pieces to get around the fuel tank...

06/11/2009 - Mark F 6.5L Diesel FSD Heat Sink Kit
Rating: 5 of 5 stars The installation was very simple. The instructions worked as written. I choose to remover the intake plenum from the turbo. It allowed me to see the injector pump and FSD and to get my fingers on the wiring harness. My wires needed a little coaxing under the intake manifold so the extra few minutes was worth it. All in all, I was done in under 30 minutes.
I wish I knew about this in 2003 when I paid the Dealer $500 to replace the first FSD.

Rating: 5 of 5 stars My 95 K2500 pickup had lost fuel mileage and was pretty 'crackly'. It also was starting to knock occasionally on cold start. Walt confidently suggested the new injectors, and I opted for the misers. My mileage has gone from 16mpg, combined driving, to 17.8 and it just purrs with smooth, quiet acceleration. You can feel the extra 25 horses too! One suggestion: Get the special injector socket at the same time!! |

Rating: 5 of 5 stars I'm so glad I found this product. I was on my 7th Injector Pump and the warranty was getting ready to expire. This product was the answer I was looking for. It came complete and only required a few simple tools to install.
They were very helpful, sent me pictures to help me install it, plugged it in and it worked perfect. I wish every company and product worked this well.

Just like I read on hear, "wow, my truck DOES have a turbo." haha. also a noticeable increase in acceleration and throttle response. And thanks to Annete, she was very helpful when I clicked order too soon and ordered the wrong stuff, she cleared it right up and had what i wanted in the mail and at my house 2 days later. Man what a difference in starting every time I turn the key! No more smoking, or wait time to fire up, this truck starts in two seconds now, it is awsome to have this 1995 Suburban purring like a kitten again. Next purchase is the Marine Injectors to add more power. After that will be the 80 HP chip. I am sold on the SS Diesel Products and there are two SS Diesel stickers on my windows. Rating: 5 of 5 stars I have a 2001 chevy van with a 6.5 turbo diesel, and I love the fuel mileage etc. but got tired of down time. Walt from S&S Diesel is the best! After five, yes five warranted fuel pumps from GM I figured something else was wrong. Then I found S&S Diesel. WOW! No more down time, and "BS" from GM dealers that literally know nothing about diesels that I found. I bought fuel saving injectors, new PMD box with a relocating bracket and extension wire, also new glow plugs, crankcase vent, and a #9 resistor. NEW VAN! I mean NEW VAN! That simple! If you want your old truck or diesel van back to life, give walt a call, you won't be disatisfied. He knows his stuff, and has the absolute best product line available. 02/26/2009 - John G 1995 Suburban 4X4 6.5 TD FSD/PMD
Rating: 5 of 5 stars We have been replacing the fuel injection pump through GM(4 times now)for the last several years to minimal success. Every 3-4 years the unit would most likely fail according to the ealer. "Wake Up GM" and quit ripping off the people that pay good money for questionable management decisions. The "Design Sucks" and management at GM knows this very well. Recently the starting problem got alot worse and Our truck finally died. We contacted SS Diesel and found the problem to be a Heat problem on the electronic module for the Pump. BIG difference in $$ folks. The FSD change returned the truck to great running condition. We have a few other products we will be changing with Walt and SS Diesel because there is 200,100 miles on this engine and we want it to run for years to come. Preventative maintenance, quality parts and know how is the key to a long lasting vehicle despite the original design flaws. Great Job to Walt and the the team at SS Diesel Supply. |

Rating: 5 of 5 stars The truck I drive is a county service truck with a 6.5 TD engine, that I depend on to service a Caterpillar 140H Grader. The GM dealer diagnosed the truck and recommended a new injection pump. After 33 years of operating heavy equipment I knew the problem was not mechanical, but electrical. After letting several mechanics with stone tools check the truck I found Walt and SS Diesel. Walt knew exactly what the problem was, and after installing his FSD & Heat Sync kit the truck is running like it is supposed to again. Thanks! I really appreciate having my service truck back again. I bought a 95 Chevy Cheyanne k2500 extended-cab from a friend for $1000.00.
He had a relative/mechanic replace fuel lines, fuel injector pumps, etc, etc. But it still would not run right.
I had the same problems and was at my wits end, then I found your web-site. I ordered the part, installed it in 10 minutes, and have been driving the truck for a solid 4 days.

Rating: 5 of 5 stars I just recieved the filter housing cover and it fixed my problem. I have a 97 ambulance converted into an awsome camper and the housing cover was the old style being a solid cap with a filter element. It's a good bet that it was never changed! I couldn't get the original element any more so I was stuck. Walt never even heard of my type of filter. The new filter with the new cap worked just fine. Also got the air kit and hot glow plugs. All great products. Ready to go camping now. Off to Alaska. |

Rating: 5 of 5 stars I had taken my truck in last winter to GM for a full fuel system overhaul, a few thousand miles after buying the truck. Long story short, during the following several months (winter no less), I drove 9,000miles (highway) and the FSD failed another 8 times, each time GM tried coming up with different excuses. Finally got fed up, and took it straight from the dealer to a local shop, had the heat sync installed, and have been problem free!

Rating: 5 of 5 stars I just purchased a 1998 GMC Sierra 2500 SLT extended cab 8ft bed 4wd from craigslist. The guy stated it wasn't running because it needed a MAP sensor.
The guy wanted $500. I gave himn $400.
I took Walt's PMD off my other truck and installed it on the new truck. The truck started on the first try.
The guy had a homemade PMD relocator on the truck which obviously failed. His mechanic had obviously hosed him down pretty good. Anyway I have a new diesel, which after brakes and wheel seals is in better shape then my present truck. The guy is now off to buying a gas truck. Thank god for Walt and this product. |

First I would like to thank Walt for going into this business. My mechanic didn't have a clue on my fsd/pmd problem. And the dealers were useless too. It was and has been intermittent for the last 2 years. I replaced a fuel pump, fuel shutoff solenoid, fuel relay, inspected the entire electrical harness, checked grounds, and said close to 5oo curse words in the past couple of years! I refused to give up with this truck...I love it ! it's paid for....when it runs , it runs fine...So I read all the info about fsd problems and symptoms, and decided to give it a try....with a certain amount of confidence...told my mechanic to get me a new fsd and I will do the rest.I ordered a heatsink and extension cable from SS Diesel, it came in a timely manner, was easy to install, and now my 96 GMC 2500 runs better than it ever has.I would also like to thank Annette for her help and assistance with my order. She is GREAT. Thank You SWEETIE.I will be ordering more parts in the future. |

Rating: 5 of 5 stars I was having problems with my 6.5 surging, then stalling, and finally dying altogether. I replaced the fuel tank, sending unit, in-line pump, fuel filter, and the relay in the fuse box. The truck is a 98 so it needed those replacements anyway, but none of them fixed the problem. I read your web-site and my symptoms matched your FSD product discription perfectly. I ordered the FSD Heat-Sync Wednesday and the part was waiting for me when I got home from work on Friday. I am no mechanic and fairly new to Diesels and had no idea where the PMD was so it took me a little longer to install, but I followed the directions, and everything went together perfectly. My truck sounds better than it ever did and I plan on buying many more products from SSDiesel Supply as well as displaying the bumper sticker I received proudly on my Chevy K2500 Silvarado... Rating: 5 of 5 stars Recently had to do some work to my 94 Blazer. I replaced bothe cylinder heads with yours. Much better product than stock! My poor old truck had 2 blown head gaskets and 6 cracked chambers, not sure why it ran so good but it was nothing compared to now! Awesome products and great service! By the way I was getting 16 mpg around town before the repairs and am now in the process of trying to keep my foot out of it to see what kind of mpgs she'll do now. Oh in case your wondering with a little cut and weld the truck exhaust will fit the Blazer but lets just asy tha 4"s is as big as will go!!!! Love the sound though!!! Will send some pics as soon as I can. |

I installed it with the #9 resistor on your heat sink. the person before installed your fsd heat sink kit but neglected to keep it torqued properly causing premature failure. My truck runs so much better. the idle quality has improved greatly. no more chugging on hard acceleration or stalling or check engine light. its like a totally different truck. and when i filled up today i calcuated mpg and it increased 2 mpg! And that makes me a VERY happy customer who will buy the power package for my truck now. |

Rating: 5 of 5 stars I was having trouble with my truck bucking and poor fuel milage,even after a factory (warranty) installed injection pump. Walt told me what to try and asked if the truck was doing other things wich he was right. After the fsd,#9 resister,vac,turbo and egr solenoid and marine injecters. My truck went from 12mpg to 19.5mpg pulling a boat and quad on the back. My wife even noticed the turbo spooling and I never told her about the repairs before hand.
Walt is awsome to deal with and has a vast knowlage of the 6.5 diesel.
Thanks for your advice,I am going to purchase the 80 hp chip next and can't wait.

Rating: 5 of 5 stars About 2 months ago I found SS Diesel Supply. I was hauling a three horse trailer, empty and the truck would over heat on the slightest incline. After emailing Walt, I installed the HO water pump, Duramax Fan upgrade, and the 180 degree t-stats, I also found the the radiator was toast. (which was the only thing i didn't buy from walt, due to time constrants.) I have since then pulled that same trailer up a 6 mile 6% grade and kept with the flow of traffic, I even had to hit the brakes a couple of times. This was my first purchase for my 97 C2500, but it won't be the last. SS Diesel has restored my faithin the 6.5 as a durable working diesel engine. Thank You guys |

Rating: 5 of 5 stars I have only owned my 97 3/4 k truck for about 4 months. The day i bought it i went about 15 miles and it died, started and died. Never owning or even touching a diesel before in my life i was confused. After 3 shops and several friends i found your site and decided it was the pmd. My current boss had a used one and i bolted it on exactly how the old one was (I will send pics when i can, u will not believe) with no heat sync or anything. The stalling stoped, but it was only 30 degrees now as well. Had a rough idle but just though it was natural. When the weather turn to 60 degrees it began stalling and jerking again, I finally broke down and bought your kit. It showed up today, took me longer to get the old junk off then bolt the new one on. Started the truck and took of hoping it would not stall. First stop light i noticed the truck was smooth. The not month old tires smoked when i mashed down on the gas. It was a new truck, new motor. I fell in love with the truck all over again. 2 months ago I hauled some scrap. the entire load was at 21,000 lbs giving me 11,000 lbs of scrap. Truck did ok, but now i can't wait to see how it does now. Can't wait till the #9 resistor kicks in. I also have a cold air intake from AFE (before i found u guys, trust me i paid way to much)and a 3 in straight pipe from a sissy stroke, (the only good part i found from a ford..lol tail pipe hanger in the same location) now i know i like the sound i plan on upgrading to a 4" or a 4 into a 5". If she would black smoke i would maybe even put on a stack...lol...thanks..definetly be buying more upgrades.thanks a million |

Rating: 5 of 5 stars Had stalling problem.Took my 6.5 turbo to the local GMC dealer.Charged me $87 to tell me the injection pump was the culprit and it would cost me $3500 to replace it.I wasn't convinced & besides the truck wasn't worth but a little more than that.I researched on the web for the problem that I had & came across SSDeisel Supply.I didn't believe that the little box would solve the problem because there is so much junk out there that doesn't work.But, I've been taken before & I'll be taken again so I ordered the Fix from you and figured the worst is I'm out $375 and my education would be complete. Got the heat sync kit. Put it on.Lo and Behold, no more stalling!IT works!And my mpg increased 3 mpg.Went back to the local GMC dealer & got my $87 back after explaining that they did not live up to their part of the contract but SSdiesel Supply did.I would heartily recommend this company & their products .Thanks |

Just ordered the 4inch exhaust, more to come when I get it on. I just bought a 98 GMC Sierra 4WD, the guy was selling it because it was stalling, hard starting etc, he had no idea what was wrong and said he didn't want to spring for an injector pump. After getting this motor back together I am very pleased. We bought it used with 25K on it and the motor has never started easier or run better. My dad/boss wanted us to get a GM motor and not even mess with it but thanks to you and your great products we saved a lot of money and I look like a genius. Thanks again!!! |

I had hard starting on cool mornings 45-F degrees and had to plug in my truck for a hour or so. After pluging truck in I noticed truck would smoke on start up. Walt suggested I check the Vac pressure. It was at Zero. Checked lines, repaired some leaks, replaced Vac Pump and I can actually hear the turbo for the first time. Rating: 5 of 5 stars I installed the 4" exhaust on my 96 Suburban in about 2 hours with only one arm.....lol...recovering from rotator cuff surgery was a bad time to lose the exhaust system! I had to cut about 3" off the primary pipe, and didn't use the secondary pipe at all. I had to do a little welding to convert the hangers from a blade style to a round bar style, but everything came together rather fast, the V-band clamp can be a real pain to line up, but even on my back in the driveway it only took two hours......very satisfied! Thanks! |

I called numerous dealerships, diesel repair facilitys etc.....and Walt is the only one who could help me without costing me an arm and a leg! I didn't buy any parts due to the time I had to deliver a used diesel I purchased for my car lot. I knew I had a good running truck, but it had developed a serious hestitaion and eventually wouldn't start. I found this website and it pointed me into the right direction. Rating: 5 of 5 stars I have a 95 Chevy PU and have been through it all just like everyone else. After spending thousands of dollars on repairs with only more frusterations I found SSDiESEL SUPPLY. I have installed the Heat Sync, new PMD, and resistor which took care of the stalling, missing, hard starting, and etc. Recently I had a problem with my truck missing and dying at start up. Through Walts easy troubleshooting help we figured the lift pump and ops switch was bad. My truck now runs great again. Thank you, Thank you, Thank You!!!! If you had a ten star rating I would give you all ten plus a couple. I will be getting more accessories as time goes on. |

Rating: 5 of 5 stars I had a stalling issue that kind of had me thinking I had a bad pump but before I went ahead and ordered one I decided to ask Walt what he thought about this and he figured the I had a PMD/FSD going bad causing my closure times to fluctuate so I ordered the PMD kit and waited for UPS. Got the kit and had it installed in about 20 mins then went on a 3 hr test drive. All problems solved, Thanks Walt and everyone a SSDiesel Supply. My exhaust and injector orders will be coming soon ;) |

Rating: 5 of 5 stars A+A+A+ That says it all. heat sync kit is great. water pump and fan conversion highly recomended, my truck runs so smooth and sits at a cool 170 degrees in 100+ degree weather. The exhaust is great, easily installed in under 4 hours even on the ground in my driveway. Also passed emissions with flying colors and has no cat. installed. Had many compliments with how great it sounds. Thanks again to SSDiesel supply.

Rating: 5 of 5 stars Powerhouse I just sold my 97 2500 turbo diesel and got a duramax. The old diesel after putting on the exhaust resistor PMD kit and extended wireing harness air filter had almost the power of my newer truck. I just needed 4x4 and crew cab and couldnt find a early one. The 5 speed trans on the duramax helps
but the 6.5 had a better gear on a slight incline. It is only about 5 mph difference on the steepest hill. Dont think about buying the add ons just do it if you want to keep your truck. |

If you have trouble with random engine shut downs with your GM 6.5 diesel, this is the solution.
Being a skeptical person, I emailed Walt several times before my purchase. He speaks the truth! He was more than helpful and knowledgeable!
The dealer wanted to replace the whole fuel injection unit. I even suggested just replacing only the PMD module to them. They told me the entire unit had failed.
It's been over eight months since I installed the SSD Heat-Sync unit. There has not been one problem since the installation.
Like I said at the beginning, save yourself the money of an expensive replacement of the entire fuel injection unit…

Rating: 5 of 5 stars Hey guys, last Saturday I installled your 4" exhaust and air filter on my 93' 2500K The installation was really slick for both products. I was suprised how much the stock down pipe off the turbo was necked down at various locations. The pipe had squared sections alomg the length, like it was held in a square mandrel while being formed. Anyway great product and great service. Got it to the "left coast" in about a week.

I noticed an increase in power immediately after the air induction and exhaust were installed, and my rare 1998 Tahoe 2DR 4WD 6.5 Turbo rumbles and winds up like a beast. The exhaust took my very talented mechanic 5 hours to install - he had to flatten a small section of the tailpipe to fit it around my axle and make some hanger adjustments, but some fabrication was expected on this short wheelbase vehicle. Thanks Walt. Looking forward to more SS Diesel products. |

Rating: 4 of 5 stars I like the new 4" exhaust, it sounds good and i feel a slight increase in power, not sure about the mileage gains yet I just put it on yesterday, took about 4 hours. The hardest part was getting the old turbo downpipe off and putting the new one on.You either have to take out the crossover pipe or remove the passenger side tire and the inner fender. either way its a pain in the neck but worth the effort. I absalutley love the new intake, the turbo spools up so fast and is very loud, thanks for the great products and fast shipping I would definitly buy from you again. |

Rating: 5 of 5 stars I had the classic performance loss and decreased mpg..with occasional high speed surging, followed by intermittent stalling...and finally complete stall with no start..Researched the problem on the net..Decided the SS Diesel Supply product was both the best and what I needed. Ordered, arrived a few days later...Installed in about 30 mins (hardest part was getting the old pmd harness pulled up and out) and truck started first crank ! Starts easier and feels stronger than it has in years ! Thanks guys ! Great product and Im looking forward to NOT replacing another PMD in the forseeable future (1995 K2500 Suburban 6.5 148k miles) 1 injector pump, lift pump and 1 pmd replaced in warranty |

04/16/2007 - Ken R Cooling Fan Upgrade
Rating: 5 of 5 stars I installed the Duramax cooling fan upgrade in my '98 Diesel Suburban mostly to try to reduce the max temperature that the clutch would kick in (before it would go up to 230 degrees). After installing the new fan I couldn't get the engine hot enough to engage the clutch! It never got up to 200 deg. Not only that, but now I could comfortably tow at 65 mph whereas before I limited myself to 55-60 to keep the engine temps down. What an easy and inexpensive way to get a whole lot of improvement. Bottom cowl clearence was fine, but the top was a little close for my comfort, but nothing 20 minutes with the belt sander couldn't fix. Thanks for a great product. |

After installing your new vacuum pump the Turbo is spooling up like never before and the engine is roaring again like new! I have to say that you know the 6.5 like no one else!

Rating: 5 of 5 stars My truck broke down and wouldnt run.Walt said it was the heat sync.He was exactly right.I put it on and it cranked right up.It was easy to install.He said I needed marine injectors in it because it had 164,000 miles.I installed the injectors without pulling off the turbo.It was a pretty big job but got er done.Now my truck runs great.Can rev it up and it dosent smoke like before.This is a great place to buy good products and great support. |

Rating: 5 of 5 stars At first when I got my truck it was alittle rough around the edges. After speaking with Walt , and a few others , I ordered some intial parts to get it running right. Supply lift pump etc. Then I added the exhaust and new cross over. Then the fsd and a new PMD , then following up with the air induction. My truck is awesome , and runs great. I also had some body work done and new wheels and tires. It used to look bad and go 0 - 60 in 5 min. Now its up and running better than ever. Fuel treatment is also a must. I get on average 22 miles per gallon, and my truck is one the quickest diesels on the road. 0- 60 now is for sure under 7 or 8 and thats good for this truck. Thanks Walt Keep truckin Buddy. |

Rating: 5 of 5 stars Nice! After stalling and not starting, I pulled my hair out trying to figure out what was wrong. After reading the FAQ, I ordered the FSD that night. The next day I installed it in 10 minutes and the truck runs like never before. The #9 resistor gives a nice little boost of power :-) As soon as I move into my new house, I will be ordering the Stainless Power Package, injectors, glow plugs and water cooling upgrade. After finding SSDiesel, I wouldn't own any other truck. Thanks much! |

I installed ss diesel glow plugs,glow plug override, FSD, #9 fuel resistor, Air filter kit, new vacuum pump and pulley,lift pump/ oil pressure switch,wastegate soleniod and finally 4" exhaust! What a brute! All parts were very easy installs and with Walt's help truck is running (or should I say "outrunning") everything in sight! Totally awesome products and support! I pull a 12,000 lbs toyhauler with 6 motorcross bikes and have gotten speeding tickets in 5 states.

As far as where to shop it was easy, Walt's knowledge and integrity precede him and speak volumes for his business this was the main factor in my choosing his products for my rig. 01/30/2007 - Kevin B Marine Injectors
Rating: 5 of 5 stars After extensive reluctance and opposition to what Walt was telling me mainly due to the initial sticker price of purchasing the marine injectors and the fact that I thought the truck was stilling running good at 140,000 miles, I finally listened to what Walt was telling me and broke down and bought them and installed them the Sunday after I got them. I have been my own mechanic for years and having a pretty good mechanical background/ability, I have to say that Walt truly is an expert with these GM 6.5L diesels and I got everything he said I would get from doing the change and then some. Faster cold (30 deg F) morning starts, Virtually no smoke, immediate pedal response, no turbo lag, more power, and even with the injectors still seating, I gained 1.5 MPG even with the winter blended fuels that reduces mileage by about 2MPG! The overall biggest part of the job is removing the Turbo to have room to change the injectors. A good graphite penetrating lube does well with the rusted manifold bolts I started applying it two times a day 3-4 days before doing the job, along with degreasing the injector areas 3-4 times and then finally blowing off the engine with compressed air after the turbo was off and before the injectors got changed. Everything was as clean as I could get it which paid off when it came time to fire the engine up and after 3 cold cranks, it came to life again and purred like a kitten almost immediately. As an extra precaution, I did change the fuel filter and bled the lower reservoir 3-4 days before doing the injectors and the night before trickle charged the batteries to be sure they were ready because I thought the re-start was going to be tougher than it was. The Marine injector kit is totally the way to go. Thank you walt for your patience and all of your emailed replies. |

The engine stays nice and cool and the turbo now works properly. The truck runs great. Since I am not much of a mechanic, I wish the directions were in more detail. I was able to figure it out easily enough though. I would highly recommend people to do business with SSDiesel. They know their stuff and are priced very well. |

Rating: 5 of 5 stars I wrote to walt about my '96 Chevy K1500 stalling out. He emailed me back and told me a few diffrent things to try and if it wasn't one of them then it would be my PMD. I tried the other test and that wasn't the problem so I ordered a FSD Kit (and air induction kit) and the problem was fixed immediately. I couldn't believe the diffrence. It's like I'm driving a new truck. I can't believe when I slam the throttle and the truck launches. It's great. On the bottom of the invoice it says "Thank you very much, I really appreciate your business!!! Walt".

Rating: 5 of 5 stars My 95 suburban was having problems cutting off; would just stop running like someone turned the key. Eventually had it towed to a dealer and it was diagnosed as the injection pump - they wanted $2300 to replace it (it had already been replaced under the extended warrenty but was now out of warrenty). A friend found this web site and Walt recommended the FSD heat-sync. Was quick to install and so far has worked like a charm! The truck is running smooth with no turning off! What a relief!

Rating: 5 of 5 stars I recently purchased a 98 GMC 3500 with the 6.5L turbo. The first thing I did was replace the old PMD with a new SS Diesel FSD/PMD kit. Even though I wasn't having any major problems yet, everything I've read so far suggests that it WILL happen eventually. Plus, I was hoping that it might improve my mileage some.
It didn't. No problem though, because I wanted the new heat sink and remote mounting anyway.
So after some more reading on the SS Diesel site, I saw where the wastegate solenoid could cause poor mileage as well as black smoke on acceleration, which I was also experiencing.
So I bought a new solenoid. Figured what the heck, it's $38 bucks and hasn't probably ever been changed anyway.
It took about 3 minutes to install. I fired up the truck and immediately noticed a HUGE difference in throttle response.
So after it warmed up a few minutes, I took it for a test drive...WOW! It feels like I've added 25 more HP. It's amazing how different it runs from just a simple fix.
So I want to thank Walt and his crew for putting up such really useful info. on your site. I figure a diesel shop would have charged me at least $200 to fix the problem.

Rating: 5 of 5 stars I’ve had my 95 GMC truck for about 3 years. It has never worked as good as it Does now. I was having DTC Codes Come up every Time I Drove it....29,36,78,99 ect.. I looked for a year or so for some site that would shed some light on the issues. I even asked my mechanic friend But everything he told me to do was expensive and never fixed anything. When I Finally Found SS diesel supply, I was glued to my computer night after night, Learning everything I Could about my truck. Walt was great sharing his expertise in the 6.5 TD. He diagnosed my problems right away. I had a PMD that was on its way out, a failed lift pump, and a failed vacuum pump. I replaced my PMD with a FSD Heat Sync, and it works great. Got a new vacuum pump, put a new fuel filter, OPS switch, Lift pump, air filter, and pump relay, I installed everything and now my truck is like new. My turbo really winds up. Sounds great too! Cant wait to get a new 80HP chip and 4” exhaust. Thanks Walt!!

10/22/2006 - Warren Cooling System/Fan Upgrade Combo Kit and Heater Hose/Tube Push-Lock Connector
Rating: 5 of 5 stars If its cooling a 6.5 L you are worried about, buy Walt's fabulous Cooling System/Fan Upgrade Combo Kit as well as the Heater Hose/Tube Push-Lock Connector as after its all installed 180 degrees is as hot as the engine will get. I installed these on my '96 C2500 SWB flatbed with duallies [via an adapter kit] just before I towed a 40-foot enclosed car transporter 900 miles on a hot day across Canada. I was truckin' along between 65 and 75 mph most of the way and the temprature guage never got above 180 degrees. The trip back with the transporter full was a bit slower [5000 lbs more will do that] and again the temprature guage never went above 180 degrees even on uphills on the New York State Thruway.
Installation: PLAN ON 2 VERY FULL DAYS; and do not work too long on either day. Go SLOW and BE CAREFUL. Take photos of the engine BEFORE taking it apart. Steam clean or power wash the engine [underneath too!!] and engine compartment [especially around the front end of the engine where the lower radiator hose attaches] BEFORE you start; it will make the job MUCH easier. Have a friend help you, especially with the ##*@@!!! lower radiator hose. Get the right tools to remove a radiator hose!!!!! Make sure you have all the right tools, especially for removing the old cross-over and installing the new one; you WILL need a universal.
Before you start, obtain the pages on replacing the water pump from the factory service manual; these combined with Walt's instructions will make the job much easier. Also get the pages on taking off the grill and other parts around it; DO NOT reef hard on the plastic, it breaks easily [voice of experience]. If you have all the screws, bolts and other fasteners out/off, the grill and other parts around it all will come right off. While you have this area apart, clean the radiator, oil cooler and transmission fluid cooler; this will take about an hour, but is well worth it; wait until you see the trash and dirt in there!
Get the best stainless steel radiator clamps you can find; the ones with springs are so much better than just the plain ones; at this point a couple of dollars more makes no difference. Do not cheap out on the installation. Be careful of the sensor on the top of the intake manifold while you work, in fact, I suggest you remove it [plug the hole!!] as then you won't break it and have to spend another $25 bucks at the Chevy/GM dealer you did not plan to [voice of experience here]. DO NOT BUY AN AFTER MARKET SENSOR!!!!
You will not beleive the amount of air the fan in this combo kit moves. Don't skimp and not buy it, get the whole kit, it is well worth the money. Think of this as insurance against having to buy a rebuilt engine.
My opinon is if you only do one upgrade to your 6.5 engine, this is the one to do.
The engine already had a 4-inch exhaust system, a modified factory airbox and a highflow filter, and an intercooler. Guages include boost, EGT, oil temp, trans temp, rearend temp. I did not use any of the tuner stuff, as I wanted more power as well as to increase the dependability and longevity of the engine.
Soon to be added will be a larger tranmission pan; a larger rear-end cover along with a radiator with fan for cooling it, fans on the transmission and oil coolers.
I sought Walt's advice before I started and his advice was clear and honest. I do not think you can go wrong doing business with Walt. |

Rating: 5 of 5 stars First of all we need to wish Walt a speedy recovery. I know that this business can be very stressful and we have probably all added stress to Walt's life.
All of the products that I have ordered so far for my 1995 GMC 6.5L Diesel were very easy to install. I did have problems with a lot of rust and frozen nuts and bolts. After reading the testimonials and FAQ's, I too discovered that removing the fender well, made it easier to access the turbo and injectors. Now I can go from zero to fourty miles an hour in about two seconds, whereas before it seemed like about five minutes.
Before I discovered SSDiesel I was on the verge of sueing General Motors for their product design defect being that I too had three injection pumps install within the first thirty thousand miles. I had the 4th one installed at 108k under the extended Stanedyne Warrenty; the dealership nor General Motors would honor that warrenty until I found my copy that was sent to me eight years ago. I am a professional mechanic with several degress and certifications. It was instilled in me never to modify any vehicle because of the liability factor. I find it interesting that after 100 years of the evolution of the automobile; we are once again making custom made cars after the car leaves the factory.

Turbo spools up a lot quicker and the engine doesn't seem to work near as hard pulling around this 7100 pound (empty) crew cab pickup. This makes 2 6.5TD's I own. I installed your Heat-sync and had an opportunity to take the truck for a trip (311 miles). I checked the fuel mileage, which was around 16
MPG before installing the Heat-sync, and found that it is now 18.91 MPG.
This trip was through the mountains of Maine , not the best test for fuel ecomony. I couldn't believe the change in mileage and my truck hasn't run this good since I bought it (lots more power and in runs really smooth). Thanks for your help in diagnosing the problem and for your advice. I had spent $1500.00 at dealers for parts and labor and it ran worse after they had worked on it.

Rating: 5 of 5 stars I have a 97 Suburban with the 6.5 Turbo Diesel. Within the last 2 years I have taken it to about 5 different garages to have it fixed. The problem I was having was that it would "shut-off" on me while I was driving down the road. Then it would not start right away at times. All of the garages replaced several different parts such as the batteries, supply/lift pump, etc.. Overcharged me for those and told me the problem was solved, only for me to drive it home and have it stall out again down the road. Needless to say my frustrations grew strong. I did some searching and discovered SS Diesel Supply. (I consider myself very lucky as I am only about an hours drive from their shop.) I emailed Walt several times with questions and he responded within a couple hours everytime. I finally decided to purchase the Heat Sync kit recently and installed it. I have only put about 30 miles on the truck since the kit was put in, and it has not "shut-off" yet. At the rate that it was, I know it would have by now if the kit did not work. All I can say is that I am very very very happy and thankful that I came across Walt and crew during my searches. I highly recommend their parts and services to evryone and will definitely be doing business with them again in the near future! Thank you again Walt for all your help and patience, and thank you to the rest of your crew as well. Rating: 5 of 5 stars Although the 15 minute job turned into 4 1/2 hours because the last dealership (who changed the IP rather than the PMD) routed the wiring incorrectly and we had to remove the IP and busted a mount for the turbo, the PMD & HeatSync did the trick and my truck is running better than ever. Next upgrades will be the 4" exhaust and new WasteGate sensor. I'd also like the gauges and the cooling system upgrade and the Trans pan, but money is too tight for all of that right now. Rating: 5 of 5 stars I have rarely seen the customer service and support that SS Diesel Supply gives. The speed of shipping non-air was the quickest I've ever seen. The communication of letting you know when your package was shipped was clear. The package came very well packed and professional. I've ordered from other diesel stores and was very unimpressed at the packaging and quality of product. No funny surprizes when putting the Air Induction Kit on or the FSD Heat Sync w/ new PMD. I had bought a water pump upgrade kit from another company and was left going to the store to buy the timing plate gasket. What a pain. Then I see Walt's Water Pump Upgrade Kit comes with it and is cheaper! Had some problems with the Suburban not starting after putting everything back together and Walt got back to everyone of my late e-mails very quickly. Turned out to be a connection and a ground. I think his knowledge and tips and suggestions are worth more than he charges or should I say gives away for free. With out trying to sell you something else!! Suburban started after trying some of his tips and didn't have to take it anywhere to give them $100/hour. Kept the cash in my own pocket. Can't wait till I can order the 4" exaust and a new set of injectors. A customer for life.

07/05/2006 - Greg P Cooling Upgrade
Rating: 5 of 5 stars Back in April I purchased the cooling fan/clutch upgrade from you (P/N# SSD-002) and the Performance Air Induction kit (P/N# SSD-707). I must
say, they have got to be some of the best investments I have ever made for my truck! This afternoon the ambient temperature was 34 degrees Celsius and very humid. I thought for sure that today would be the day that I see my truck overheat. Not a chance! I was on the highway doing about 115 km/h with the Air Conditioning blasting to keep us cool. As we began our ascent up a steep hill, I looked down at my temperature gauge. The needle was starting to climb fairly quickly from the 80-degree mark to the 90- and 95-degree mark. Then all of a sudden I heard the fan clutch kick in to cool the engine down. It was the first time that I heard the fan unit engage at highway speed, but nevertheless, within seconds, the temperature fall back down to the 80/85 degree mark. I was shocked and amazed that it would cool such a big engine so quickly-my old fan would take a lot longer to cool the engine down and I would usually have to slow down to reduce RPMs and heat buildup. But that's not necessary anymore. Before today I was
skeptical about how well your clutch and fan assembly would work because we haven't had many overly hot days, but today I quickly became a believer!

Just got my 4" outlet system unstalled, and my goodness what a difference. Turbo is spooling up very fast, just pressing the pedal a little bit. The Full Pillar 3 gauge pod fits like a glove. From before I have the 80hp unit, gearshift enhancer, OPS, liftpump, DTC Code Reader for the OBDII, Crankcase Depression Regulator Valve, etc. I just have to say that it will not be my last orders from you Walt. Next is likely to be a number of FSD's, and some more.
Have told everybody about your support and products. Thanks for a new truck !!!

Rating: 5 of 5 stars Just had my first long trip with my 6,5TD Suburban 1996. Have installed the 80 hp PCM unit and the gear shift improver + new fuel feeding pump and OPS switch (also have the code reader witch is very handy, as my glow plug relay gives me code 380).
My wife and I drove pretty hard up and down hils from Bergen to Oslo (600km each way). Didn't "save" on the "gasfoot" at all. It turned out that the fuel consumption had dropped with nearly 30% from earlier trips, the very same way. I'm very impressed with Walt and his guys. Stay in there Walt, cause I have told a few people I know about your brilliant products.

Still running better mileage then I ever got before (15mpg now; 13mpg at its best before and 10mpg for the last 6 months because injectors were going out) UNFREAKEN BELIEVABLE POWER INCREASE!!!! TWICE THE TRUCK I HAD BEFORE!!! Runs with my dad's 03 dodge one ton without a problem. I got a whole new truck now. And I only went with the 40 horse ECM. Read my other testimonial for the rest of the stuff I did. A-1 SERVICE AND DEFINATLY A-1 PRODUCT. Thinking about adding the bigger Trans oil pan to finish off a great upgrade. I was very leery about the money I was going to spend on all these upgrades but have already realized I didn't spend anything I INVESTED!!! After a few minutes of trying to restart it would finally crank and then run fine the rest of the day. On other days especially after sitting for several days it was extremely hard to start. I shared my problems with Walt. He suggested the FSD Heatsink & PMD. I was a little skeptical since I had already taken my truck to 2 dealerships and paid good money for nothing since they did'nt have a clue as to what the problem was, but seemed content to charge me anyway. 04/17/2006 - Doug B Fan, Injectors, PMD, Exhaust, Air-induction,and a few other
Rating: 5 of 5 stars I had to put the injectors in, everything else was not needed but wanted to do. VERY IMPRESSED with the quality of all of it. Haven't got my ECM yet but the motor already has more life in it then it ever had before. Love the deep sound the exhaust gives without being to loud. Everything installed rather easily for a shade tree mech. I did find out that removing the fender wells made installing the exhaust,glow plugs, and the injectors alot easier. WILL HAVE NO PROBLEM BRAGGING ABOUT THESE PRODUCTS. Will buy more, well would if there is something that I didn't already buy(ha-ha)!!!!!!!! |

Truck quite running on a Wednesday and low and behold Wednesday afternoon my products arrived. Installed the PMD cooler in less than ten minutes and truck is back to running like a champ. Walt, you have my business for as long as I own a 6.5. Keep up the great work.

Rating: 5 of 5 stars Just want to let everyone know how happy I am with the FSD heat-sync kit. I had problems with my Chev Diesel 6500, when I was driving it on the highway it would just quit. I went to 3 Chev dealers, they said to bring the truck in and they would check it over, I had extended warranty on the fuel pump. I already had a fuel pump replaced after 28,000km, I only had 50,000 km on it now. I am happy to say my wife went on the internet and found this site. We were leary about purchasing the FSD, never hearing about the product before. We went ahead with the order and received it in less then a week (we live in Canada). I installed it in less than 1/2 hour. I haven't had any problems since. My friend drives a tow truck and we mention it to him. He told the person that he has towed several times(same problem). The guy went on the web site and ordered the FSD, no problems since(although our friend misses the tow calls).

Rating: 5 of 5 stars I just installed the Cooling Upgrade Kit, and I'm extremely happy!!! My truck ran at about 200 with no load and last year I pulled a 38 ft camper and it was never below 220 and at times the guage was nailed! This weekend I had to pull a 40 ft camper for a friend, with a 25 to 30 mph headwind. It ran in the 180 range and once hit 210 but only for about 30 seconds. Unbelievable product!! |

the cold air filter and the 4 " exaust made 6 lbs boost more than i had before....
the glow plugs made start like i had it pluged in for 2-3 hrs[ i just put in ac delco 60g's 2 months ago ]
and the fsd cooler was worth it too... the hardest part of installing everything was getting the old stuff off..
im a auto tech and i will be selling this stuff to clients of mine. just trying to get an order together.. thanks ss |

Can recommand these for all of you looking for more power & torque.
The gear shift improver is also a must to have. Have not tried full power yet, as I want to "break" the engine in step by step. But I can really feel a difference in the engine performance already. |

Rating: 5 of 5 stars I just installed the cooling upgrade kit,and fan combo on my 95 1 ton chevy and have to say it works great. My truck usually ran at 210 degrees with no load on it and up to 250 degrees with a 10k pound load. Now it runs at 185 degrees and hasnt passed 215 degrees on a hard pull. This product is worth evey penny. Thanks for the help and the great products!

When I asked about replacing the pmd, they assured me w/ extra gravity that the entire injector pump,all glow plugs + controller,and vacuum pump "must" be replaced. Walt's ssd-006 had me up and running with no problems now 1 mnth later. Honest Gentlemen are few, Honest auto techs are even more rare. I would like to have a dollar for every injector pump that was replaced when all you needed was your heat sink and a new PMD. You will be hearing from me soon for some other go fast goodies. Why is there only GOOD on the top of the rating where is excellent? P.S> how hard was the instalation of the 6.2 in the 1969 Chevelle. It sounds like something my son and I might try. I must tell you, I can't believe how, with your expert advice, we have turned, what I referred to as my "PIG", into a very "respectable towing machine" which takes second seat to none. I was always a "big block" gas man and got forced into buying my 94 Chevy dually "diesel" when I fell on some hard times. Since I got hooked-up with you I have become a serious "Diesel Dummy". My only problem is some overheating when I tow under extreme conditions, and that will be fixed with the "Cooling upgrade" within the very near future. Rating: 5 of 5 stars i have been a ss diesel cust. for a year now. i found walt after dealer installed 6 inj. pumps on my truck at 10,000 mi. intervals.and i went with a fsd heat/sync-pmd combo. and that has been almost 20,000mi.since !!! then installed 4"ext.that unleashed some real power. and just recently the dmax fan+perf. air induction and now where talkin. those other diesels(power jokes)dont even try to play on a hard pull with 12,000 lbs. behind it the temp. never got over 215 deg. and the fan brought it back to 205.next will be walts 80-hp chip (like i need it) so i can stay ahead of the kenny bell supercharger my buddy is installing on his gas truck, thanks walt and the sweet lady that i cant never remember her name. |

12/22/2005 - Hud 707 Inake and 3" turbo downtube
Rating: 5 of 5 stars Recently installed both of these on my '95 C2500. Man! What a difference. Now the turbo is spooled up by 1200 RPM instead of 1800-2000. And it really talks while it walks! I had no idea how restrictive the stock pipe was on these trucks. I looked at the old one after it was cut off and cannot see why GM would do that to a pipe. Anyway, truck definitely has more power and I would venture is more effecient as well. And Walt is the man on 6.5TD troubleshooting. Thanks guys for proving that performance parts can be had for these motors. |

Rating: 5 of 5 stars 12/13/05 Finished installing newly rebuilt 6.5 in my wifes 1996 3500,due to family emergency we had to leave on a 800 mile (one way)trip that night with less than 50 miles on the rebuild.On the return trip the waterpump upgrade paid for itself hunderds of times over, 200 miles into the return trip the coolant recovery hose blew out from contact with the turbo, drove an additional 10/15 miles to the next rest area. The pump worked well enough that after allmost 4 hours the thermostat hadn't opened! Following a roadside repair and topping off the recovery tank only, we made the rest of the trip with out incident. That pump saved
a fresh motor!

Rating: 5 of 5 stars Got the dreaded stalls in my plowtruck. Big snowstorm 2 days away. Parts came next day and I installed (only half hour for both!) as snow started falling. WOW! Truck runs incredibly better, more power, better economy, can now hear and feel turbo, and of course NO MORE STALLING!!

First off, I was a little skepitical at first only because of this whole internet thing. Had a local GMC garage tell me almost 3 years ago that my IP was going and I shouldn't drive my Yukon until repaired. Well I'm a stuborn pollock and thought no way am I sticking $3,000+ into this thing so I ran it with the SES flashing at me. Then when it finally stalled and wouldn't stay running I searched around on the internet got some ideas and found your site. Ordered the FSD heat sync waited for the UPS guy to deliver it finally at 5:00pm and because I had 20minutes of dawn lite left ran out and put it on. Wow, started right up and no more SES. The truck runs better than ever.

Rating: 5 of 5 stars I have had a problem with my truck stalling for two years. I have change the fuel pump,removed the fuel tank and flush it out. I change the fuel filter on a regular basis. I went to the dealer in the area, and he told me it was the injector pump, at the tune of $3000.00. He would be glad to fix it. Well I let it go until my truck started shuting off on me,then I went to the internet for answers. I typed in keywords 6.5 liter turbo diesel stalls.I found a wealth of information, which lead me to SS DIESEL. I ordered the FSD Heat-Sync kit, installed it in my truck(about 10 minutes tops). My truck is now running with no stalling,I have found a place to get answers to my questions, here at SS DIESEL. It took me 10 minutes to install the FSD cooler and new intake snorkel, and low and behold it poped right off. I wasn't 100% sure this was going to fix it but it works great. Also I found I apparently have a turbo! I can actually hear the whine and now know it is working. Cured the smoaking problem as well.... I proudly dislay the SSDiesel Supply sticker you sent me! Bravo and thanks again. You are No 1 in my books. Next year I'm going for the 4" exhaust system.

Rating: 5 of 5 stars I never thought my truck ran poorly. Stalled once in a while with the heat and humidity and i was just waiting till i had the money to buy the heatsink. Since installing, and getting the TDC offset set correctly, i've had no more stalling and awesome performance. I never thought my truck could run this good.

Rating: 5 of 5 stars Finally, I'm not ashamed to say I have a Chevy 6.5. I have a 94 K2500 ext cab. A co worker has a 97 powerstroke reg cab 4x4. He USED to think it was funny to outrun me after work. Not anymore. He had a 3 truck length lead, and I caught and passed him(with a stick his is automatic). You guys are the best thing on the planet for 6.5 owners. This truck is a monster now and gets better fuel mileage. Thank you again and anything else I need, I'm a customer for life. So you know this is no B.S. I was a DIE HARD Ford man. I needed a new truck and got a good deal on this one so I bought it. I HATED it. Now that it runs this good, I'll have it for a long while.

Your item may be the nicest gift my husband has given to me. Sounds funny but I think it is better than jewels. When I used to be out on the road in my Suburban with our children and the car would die on the road every few minutes, I felt so insecure. It would quit with no warning. I would always have to drive in the right lane and get ready to coast to the side, wait and then start it up again. It was terrible. Now the Suburban does not even THINK about stalling. I call it a miracle and I am so happy, I just praise God. Want to know something funny? Previous to this, our radio and clock would generally not work and I would have to manually take out the fuse and replace it each time we wanted to listen to the radio or CD. Now the clock light turns on when the key turns on. Pretty neat. The kids are happy and I am happy. Thank you for offering the product. We are grateful especially to feel safe on the road again.

He helped me with toubleshooting and suggested that we try the fsd/pmd kit. Since replacing this part the truck has not stalled once, not even on the twelve hour drive to Florida. We made it there and back with no problems. I highly recommend SS Diesel Supply for all 6.5 needs. |

Rating: 5 of 5 stars Walt, Just a note to tell you that after a day of ATV riding in the west deseret of Utah, I was still afraid that my 93 GMC K3500 6.5TD would still run too hot, howerver that wasnt the case. In over 100 degree temps pulling a 20 foot inclosed car hauler trailer full of ATVs and gear at 70 mph with the A/C on full, it never got hot! The temp would creep up near 210 and the fan clutch would kick in and drop the temp nearly 30 degrees! Never have I been able to pull the deseret with A/C ! Thanks for all your help! Just wanted to take a minute to thank you for turning me on to the cooling fan upgrade. As I had said in previous letters,I was having overheating problems when pulling heavy loads. This was a problem because I used my 96 C3500 diesel as a workhorse as apposed to a pleasure vehicle. After installing the upgrade, I was pleasently supprised to find out not only was I running below 230 degrees F. but around 185-195 degrees F. This was UNDER EXTREME CONDITIONS!!! My family and I depended on your decision and my truck and 28 foot travel trailor to get us out of Flordia before Hurricane David made land fall!! Man watta trip.

When the PMD went bad again, I ordered your kit along with the Air cleaner upgrade, what a difference, my only regret is that I didn't find your site before I purchased a Bully Dog 3" exhaust kit, I think I would have been happier with the 4" from you. My next purchase is going to be the cooling upgrade along with the gauges, then we're going for the 80 horse chip....looking forward to that. I'm pulling a 24' 5th wheel that weighs in at 8400 lbs., with the current upgrade I've gained about 1.5 MPG., and at the current cost of diesel, that's significant.

Rating: 5 of 5 stars A BIG THANK YOU for your help in remote trouble-shooting my \'95 Tahoe. You were absolutely correct about the boost pressure being low. It turned out it was a defective vacuum solenoid. I traced it following your suggestions to check vacuum at the wastegate actuator and the vacuum pump. After replacement, the stock turbo vacuum pressure system is now operating normally and the truck operates really well. I had no idea how much power I was missing! Since I just bought this truck, I was convinced I had purchased a lemon, and had been ripped off, despite the truck having been examined by a mechanic before I took delivery. Rating: 5 of 5 stars My 94 GMC 6.5, died on me one day while sitting in idle. After a while of sitting it started, and I drove it home.
It ran okay for a couple days, of course I only drove to work 13 miles one way. Then I noticed on the second day it started to miss, and by the time I got home it died when I parked it. It would not restart.
A friend of mine told me about SS Diesel Supply, he was curious about the PMD heat synch kit, so urged me to contact Walt.
I did, and the rest is History, thanks to Walt, my 6.5 is running as good as ever. I admit I was skeptical at first, but Walt was so positive that the PMD would help with the situation that I described. He was right!
My vacuum lines were all dried and were breaking all over the place. I had not idea where they all went. Not a problem, Walt faxed me a diagram for the vacuum hoses and suggested that I replace them with hoses from any parts store.
I am impressed with his above and beyond measures to help his customers. I'll keep coming back. Thanks Walt, and thanks to the nice lady that took my order.

It is very difficult to see what you are doing on this engine and the wiring is no more than absolutely requied but other than that, It's an easy installation.
My truck fired right up. I haven't put but a couple of miles on it but my confidence in it is restored.
I'm glad to know about SSDIESEL which I found on that stupid Dieseldoctor website in a message from another digusted shopper.

Rating: 5 of 5 stars Just wanted to let you know that my 95 crewcab 6.5 TD had been down since june, in and out of the shop for 6 months. After talking with you about the FSD Heat Sync, I ordered one and it took me longer to pull the wires up than anything else when installing it. Truck runs great!!! Better than it has since GM replaced the injector pump. I am taking your advise on other parts also as funds permit.

Rating: 5 of 5 stars I was having trouble with my 2500 stalling for no reason while driving or at idle. dealership wanted $2200 to replace injector pump and lift pump. i talked w/Walt and bought haet sync & lift pump, ever since i have had no problems. Vested $500 to save $1700. What a great product. |

Rating: 5 of 5 stars After 6 injector pump replacements the kit has cured the studdering, stalling, bucking,just plain shutdowns. You'd thing GM would have figured out the real problen by now.

Rating: 5 of 5 stars I have had nothing but great experiences with Walt and staff. Any guy who likes muscle cars and diesels is bound to come up with some killer performance products. All products are of premium quality and perform as noted. My 1994 6.5TD now runs like a diesel should, so I don't have to buy a newer one. I highly recommend any service and product SSDiesel offers. I can now trust my truck relentlessly and have some power alongside. My truck's duty is an ambulatory veterinary clinic, and my clients and patients depend on us both to get the job done. Rating: 5 of 5 stars Two weeks after I bought my 95 6.5td it started to stall. The dealer said it was probably a bad injector but after some internet research I found SSDiesel Supply and Walt. I sent him an email describing my problem and he wrote back describing some tests I could run to diagnose the problem but he was sure it was a failing pmd. He was right, a 1000 miles later and no more stalling I'm once again glad I bought that truck! Thanks Walt. |

thanks for your help with my fuel delivery problem. after installing the heat sync, i encountered a minor problem with the ground wire, but after a call to you and some tips ,i completed installation and the 3500 gmc savanna is running better that ever. i would like to commend you on your product quality and tech support. this installation saved me over 1500 dollars over what the dealer wanted for a new pump,even after he had stuck me for 600 for a lift pump and serpentine belt( that i didnt need) i am no mechanic but if i can install the heat-sync anyone can. ever 6.5 i have owned has had a fuel pump problem at on time or another.at this point i would venture to say 1/2 of those were this same problem,and i have spent may needless dollars on new or rebuilt fuel pumps before i found your product. thanks for your help.RANDY |

Rating: 5 of 5 stars my fathers 94 6.5 td broke doen out of state. dealer stated that he needed new injection pump and pmd.i found out about ssdieslel supply by an internet search. i was very lucky to find someone like walt to help us with our promlem. it ended up that the injection pump was bad but we did the job ourselves and were able to get the part for almost half price from walt.we also installed the pmd heatsink kit and the truck runs great. he always had a problem with it stalling and not restarting.i wish i found out about walt before it would have saved us a lot of headachs.it is refreshing in this day and age that you can do business with someone who knows his job and is not some parts pusher who only knows what a computer screen tells him. i will let everyboby i know with a 6.5td about walt and ssdiesel supply.thanks again for you help and professionalism.

I hauled my 96 c3500 crewcab dually in to the dealer they wanted $3000. they said the optical sensor was bad in the injection pump and that there was metal in the fuel system,so I went back and got it without fixing it and did some online resarch and found ssdiesel supply and I think I will keep my 6.5 for a while longer, original owner 143000 miles |

So here goes, when i got the product and had it on in a matter of minutes (just like the directions say) and hit the key the thing fired rite up, after sitting for over a year.Even after Mr.Goodwrench said that i needed a new injection pump Walt still said that it was prolly just a pmd failure.THANKS AGAIN WALT you are the man...... |

Rating: 5 of 5 stars A quick Note. I installed the Glow plug bypass kit on my 95 Suburbun 6.5 turbo diesel with 252,000 miles. I was the one with the starting problems. Much to my surprise after the initial computer timed glow plug schedule I push the button in for 3 seconds longer and turn the key to start and.......starts like it was brand new. Thanks so much for the help I guess the compression must be a little light but this solved the problem. Have a great holiday season!

Rating: 5 of 5 stars Recently I had a stalling problem with my 6.5. Chevrolet told me it was the lift pump but after they changed the lift pum it was no different. Then they told me it was the Injection pump to the tune of $1700.00. I sent an email to Walt and told him my cituation, he told me how to diagnose the problem and saved me a ton of money. The problem was the oil pressure switch. Can't thank you enough Walt. You have my business from now on. |

Rating: 5 of 5 stars I bought a 95 ext. long bed 6.5 gmc and 1 week after that truck started to stall but only after driving then sitting the driving again. Dealer wanted to replace injection pump. I thought I would try some things first I contacted Walt and I replaced the pmd and added the cooled kit. I recommend this to all 6.5 turbo owners.

10/19/2004 - Ferman G FSD/PMD COOLER KIT
Rating: 5 of 5 stars I had just purchased a gmc suburban and the day I went to pick it up the service engine light came on(code 35). The truck was very hard to start, trying to stall at idle and bucking going down the road. Needless to say I was very disapointed, almost to the point that I wanted to just get rid of it and get a 350 powered one. I looked at it and the pump that was on it looked new. Turns out that the person before me got rid of the truck because of this problem(after much homework and yelling and screaming). Went to the dealership, was told that I would need a new pump, they didn't even look at it. SO I did a little homework and called up the people at SSDIESEL, told them what it was doing. They told me that it was a 75% chance that it was the PMD. He told me that he felt strongly enough that it was the problem that if it didn't fix it he would give me my money back on the FSD cooler kit and send me an injection pump. I'm sure glad that I tryed there kit, the truck run's great. 500 miles later and no codes set since replacing the PMD. It run's smooth as silk going down the road, and accelerates better than most of the cummins that I've driven(I'm a former dodge diesel tech). The truck is now everything that I wanted, thanks to the people at SSDIESEL. Thank you for helping me with my problem. I'm real glad that I didn't just get rid of it. THANK YOU! |

Rating: 5 of 5 stars My 96 chev 6.5 crew cab 4x4 pickup was stalling periodically. I sent to gm and they said it needed injection pump. I knew the pump had already been replaced in 2000. I knew something else had to be the problem. I checked on the internet and other sources for info on this problem and decided fsd cooler kit had to be it. I oredered and it hasn't missed a beat. Runs smother than ever, less smoke and starts great. Thanks. Every 6.5 owner that has pmd/fsd mounted on pump needs to change to fsd cooler kit. Thanks |

Two dealerships quoted me over $2000.00 to replace the injector pump. I came across your website, and ordered the kit after receiving great help by telephone. The part arrived the next day, and after a 15 min. install my truck runs great - no more problems and a savings of over $1500.00! Your instructions that came with the PMD were great and my hubby put it on, no problems. We have been chasing this problem for a LONG time and finally just gave up and parked our 99 sub [suburban].
After a few minutes of installation, it fired right up!
